A Really SMARTYS Tournament
The SMARTYS Team - Sunday, March 12, 2005

On March 12, 2006, the SMARTYS went to Pace University in Pleasantville, NY to a JFLL Exhibition. There were a total of 10 JFLL teams there. Our team won the award for Most Creative Presentation to the judges. It was very exciting because we were called last and were wondering what award was left to win.

Here are some reflections from the team about the tournament and their season.

"Racing the USE was the coolest part for me. I liked racing against the other teams." Anne Peltier

"I was very excited about attending the JFLL Demonstration. It was a great feeling to be able to show our creation. I was nervous about the presentation to the judges. I was glad when it was over. The presentation went great. The judges really liked it. From looking at the other teams and asking them questions I learned a lot." Kristofor Bittel

"I felt great because we were confident. We worked hard as a team and felt good about our demonstration and presentation. I learned a very important lesson, that it's not about me, it's about the team. It was great to be on this team because the SMARTYS are SMART!!!!" Kelsey Bittel

"I was so proud of how well the SMARTYS worked together. They really worked hard and it showed. Mallika Winsor was an amazing coach to these kids. She really is an inspiration." Linda Kuehn
